Arizona Republic, The (Phoenix, AZ) - February 17, 2008 Deceased Name: Louise Gordon Louise Gordon, age 88, died on February 15, 2008 in Scottsdale, AZ. She is survived by her husband, Philip, her son John and daughter Roberta Bastacky & her husband David. Louise was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 26, 1919 and attended school there. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. Degree in Nursing in 1942 and worked as a school nurse and then as a public health nurse in NYC. In 1948 she married Philip. They moved from Minnesota to Arizona in 1955. Subsequently, she worked as a social worker at both Jewish Family Services and Catholic Social Services, where she did the adoption work she most enjoyed. After she retired, she lent counsel to the founders of Dillon Southwest, an adoption agency. Graveside services will be held at Beth El Cemetery in the northern portion of Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery at 2300 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix on Monday, February 18th at 12:00 noon.
